Position In Queue For The New iPad Is Up For Sale On eBay

Every year, hundreds of people line up outside the Apple store to get the latest version of iPhone as well as the iPad. Some people find it dumb, while the others love to wait in the queue to get their latest smartphone and tablet outside the Apple Store. Last week, Apple announced the next generation of its tablet device, the iPad 3 or the new iPad. It features a 9.7 inch Retina Display, sporting a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels, Apple A5X dual-core processor, 5 megapixel iSight camera, 4G LTE Connectivity and much more.
Australia was the first country to get the new iPad, followed by Japan. Yesterday, hundreds of people lined up outside the Apple’s CBD store in Sydney and also at Apple flagship store in Hong Kong. The new iPad will go on sale in the UK and US within few hours. iPad buyers have already started queuing up at the London’s Regent Street Apple store from the last four days.

Houston Retail Store Grand Opening Hints at 8:00 AM iPad Launch on Friday

Earlier this month, we noted that Apple's forthcoming Highland Village retail store in Houston had seen its grand opening date moved up by a day in recent weeks, with Apple opting to open the store on Friday, March 16 rather than holding a traditional Saturday grand opening store. The change led to speculation that the new iPad might be launching on the new date, and Apple did indeed announce last week that the device will be available beginning on March 16.

Apple has yet to announce, however, what time it will begin in-store sales of the new iPad on Friday. The company has sometimes launched major new products first thing in the morning, with stores generally opening early for the events, but as in the case of the iPad 2 last year, the company has also occasionally launched products in late afternoon time slots

But as noted by the Houston Chronicle, (via @tech513), Apple has now publicly announced that the new Highland Village store will be opening at 8:00 AM on Friday. Like the Friday date, an early grand opening is unusual for Apple's new retail stores, as they generally have their grand opening events at normal opening times, which in the case of the Highland Village store will be 10:00 AM. Consequently, it seems that the early opening may be tied to a launch of the new iPad, in which case Apple may be planning the debut for 8:00 AM local time at its other stores in launch countries.
The store’s doors will open at 8 a.m. Friday, the same day that Apple’s third-generation iPad will go on sale. An Apple spokeswoman would not say whether all its stores will open at that time on Friday, but an early opening is typical when the company starts selling a new iPad or iPhone model.
As noted by Slash Gear over the weekend, the first lines for the new iPad have already begun to form, with a pair of customers staking out their spots outside the Regent Street store in London.

Apple has said that demand for the new iPad is "off the charts", with the company's online stores in all launch countries now quoting shipping estimates of 2-3 weeks for new orders.

A feel of Next iPhone in New iPad 3

Apple's newest iPad has arrived right on schedule. It may not be the huge leap forward that some Apple fans were hoping for, but it delivers some modest updates, particularly in display resolution and connectivity. And as CNET's Donald Bell said in his First Take of the device, even these "housekeeping" improvements show that Apple can raise the tablet stakes again.
If we slice through the changes, what can they tell us about the next generation of the iPhone? Apple barely mentioned its smartphone during yesterday's media event, but the question of what the iPhone 5 (or whatever Apple chooses to call it) will bring has been on my mind ever since the marginally improved iPhone 4S went on sale in October. When the new handset finally lands this summer (or later in the year), I suspect that it will offer some substantial upgrades. And now we have a couple of clues as to what may come.

New ipad 3 review Hands-On

The new iPad launch (the iPad 3 that's not been called the iPad 3) kicked off at 10am PT/6pm GMT on Wednesday 7 March. We got down there to test the new tablet out.

Apple iPad 3 released with 3.1M-pixel Retina Display, 4G LTE & iPad 2 price drops to $399

Apple at the Media Event on 7th March, 2012 has officially announced the new iPad - iPad 3. It has many exciting features like a 2,048-by-1,536-pixel resolution Retina Display that packs 3.1 million pixels into its 9.7-inch display, along with voice dictation and LTE 4G.

Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, Phil Schiller, noted that the screen on the new iPad has more pixels than a 1080p television. Packing in 264 pixels per inch, the pixels cannot be distinguished by human eye at a distance of 15 inches. The new iPad also has a much improved, 5 megapixel camera.

The third-generation iPad also has voice dictation, allowing users to input text by speaking rather than typing.

"The new iPad redefines the category Apple created less than two years ago, delivering the most amazing experience people have ever had with technology," Schiller said. "The new iPad now has the highest resolution display ever seen on a mobile device with 3.1 million pixels, delivering razor sharp text and unbelievable detail in photos and videos."

Two New Devices to be Release at Apple Media Event ? With Apple iPad 3 Pre-Orders & Rumors Of Shipments Already on way To U.S

Some new tidbits are coming our way as the days until Apple’s next major announcement dwindle down. The first item of note is a purported shipping document for iPad 3 units. The document appeared on Twitter-like website Sina Weibo, and it is highlighted by Apple.pro. The origin seems to be in the WeiPhone forums. According to the image’s poster, the shipping document (shown below) details shipments beginning Feb. 26 from Foxconn to the United States. A machine translation from Weibo and WeiPhone forum posts (respectively):

Apple's iPad driving accelerated enterprise transition away from printing

A new analysis shows that the adoption of tablets in the enterprise, led largely by Apple's iPad, is having an accelerating impact on the decline corporate printing.

Investment bank Morgan Stanley said Tuesday in a note to investors that the rapid ascent of tablets for business use has adversely affected printing by more than it had originally predicted. Last February, a Blue Paper from the company predicted an 8-15 percent decline in printing, but a new survey shows cuts as deep as 16 percent due to increased tablet use combined and company measures to curtail printing.

The firm surveyed 700 tablet users in the U.S. about how the devices affect their printing behavior at work. 46 percent of respondents said they printed less, with 13 percent indicating that they printed 16 percent less after owning a tablet.

Apple iPad 3 to Have 'Truly Amazing' Screen

Following a report from AllThingsD earlier today claiming that Apple will introduce the iPad 3 in the first week of March, The New York Times is now weighing in with its own sources corroborating claims of a faster processor and a "truly amazing" screen in a package nearly identical in appearance to the iPad 2.
An Apple employee said that the version of the new iPad that is being tested inside the company is “essentially the same size and shape as the iPad 2,” with an improved and “truly amazing” screen. The tablet will include a faster processor, said the employee, who did not want to be identified because Apple is not fond of leaks.
The claims line up with a number of previous rumors about the iPad 3's improvements, with a high-resolution display being one of the most highly-anticipated upgrades for the new device. Earlier today, photos of a Sharp display claimed to be for the iPad 3 also surfaced, although the screen's resolution can not be verified from the photos.

Photo of the Back of an iPad 3 Rear Shell, Smart Cover Magnets

Apparently, iPad 3 enclosures are easy to come by these days. Earlier today, Repair Labsposted a photo of the interior the iPad 3 rear shell. They concluded that there were some minor changes that suggested a larger battery and redesigned logic board.

Tonight, Apple.pro posts an image of the back of the same shell, showing it to look quite simliar to the current iPad 2 backing, though the camera appears closer to the edge. There's no markings on the enclosure, however. No "iPad" or serial number markings.

Apple to release iPad 3 in the 1st Week of March

AllThingsD, which has an accurate track record in revealing Apple's new product media events, is reporting that Apple will hold an event to launch the iPad 3 in the first week of March.
Sources say the company has chosen the first week in March to debut the successor to the iPad 2, and will do so at one of its trademark special events. The event will be held in San Francisco, presumably at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Apple’s preferred location for big announcements like these. No word yet on a street date for the iPad 3 (assuming that’s what it’s called), though my guess is retail availability will follow roughly the same schedule as that of the iPad 2: Available for purchase a week or so after the event.
The report's sources also corroborate some of the basic rumors surrounding the device, claiming that it will feature a "much faster chip", improved graphics capabilities, and a high-resolution display.

Next-gen iPhone, iPad & ipod touch could be seen delivering 20 times the graphics power

Owners of upcoming iPhone and iPads could enjoy a boost in graphics power 20 times greater than that offered by current models, according to enthusiast site AppleInsider.
Such a leap in power would come courtesy of new graphics processing units developed by U.K.-based Imagination Technologies, which builds the GPUs for Apple's mobile products.
Announced at CES on Tuesday, Imagination's new PowerVR Series6 GPU core chip family is touted as providing 20 times or more of the performance of the current generation.
As a result, "it enables Imagination's partners to deliver amazing user experiences in devices from innovative 'natural' user interfaces to ultra-realistic gaming, as well as enabling new applications never before thought of from advanced content creation and image processing to sophisticated augmented reality and environment-aware solutions," Imagination said in press release.
With Apple as one of those partners, Imagination has created the GPUs built into the central processing units that drive the iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, and Apple TV, notes AppleInsider. Those CPUs include the A5 chip found in the iPhone 4S and the iPad 2, and the A4 chip in the iPhone 4 and the original iPad.
A test of the gadget iPad 2's graphics performance found a huge leap in speed over that of the original iPad, offering a healthy boost for games and other graphics-heavy applications.
Apple even owns a chunk of Imagination Technologies, so it's a sure bet the new PowerVR Series6 will find their way into upcoming iPhones and iPads. The question is when.
The next-generation A6 chip that will reportedly power the iPad 3 could include the Series 6 GPUs, speculates AppleInsider. Imagination CEO Hossein Yassaie seems to be eyeing an aggressive rollout for the new graphics processor line, saying that "we have a very clear technology advantage and an exceptional roadmap for the PowerVR Series6 family which our partners can depend on."
But with the next iPad rumored to start shipping in March, the timing will be very tight if Apple wants to take advantage of Imagination's latest technology.
The latest buzz suggests that Apple supplier and iPad maker Pegatron Technologies has already started filling orders for the new tablet.
Sources in China have also reportedly toldJapanese blog Macotakara that Foxconn Technology and Pegatron have both begun assembling the new iPad. But the sources said that Foxconn is taking on 85 percent of the load with Pegatron responsible for only the remaining 15 percent.
Another batch of rumors claims that Apple has chosen LG and Samsung to make the display panels for the iPad 3, thereby giving the bum's rush to Sharp, which reportedly failed to meet Apple's specifications.
With the iPad 3 likely to ship sometime in the first quarter, we can safely predict that the rumor mill will be heating up as we come closer to an expected launch.
