Verizon Claims a Third of iPhone 4s

Use of the device has increased steadily since its launch on the Verizon network in February.

If you subscribe to the theory that most potential iPhone buyers on Verizon have held out on purchasing a device till the new model launches this fall, then this statistic should surprise you: 32 percent of all current iPhone 4 users in the U.S. are on the Verizon network.
Yep, that's right. Research firm Localytics released data Thursday that shows the device has shown steady growth since its launch on the Verizon network in February. The iPhone 4 started out on the right foot rather quickly, quickly grabbing 20 percent of the market early on, but its real growth has been over the summer.

Why's that? One could justifiably assume that those on the fence were ensuring they'd have unlimited data as the company does away with those plans beginning this week. Another reason could be a new rash of folks coming out of contract with AT&T.
Remember the iPhone used to launch in the June timeframe. So, those folks who sprung for the 3GS back in 2009 would just be coming out of their contract now, and be ready to switch.
If Localytics is right, this is nothing but good news for Apple. This likely means that we really haven't seen the true effect of Verizon on the iPhone's fortunes. I'm kind of excited to see what the iPhone 5(?) launch does now.
