Well, the iPhone 4 has been one of the most talked handsets ever since its launch. That has been the case with any Apple product to be honest. The best part about Apple products are its launches. And with that we come to the topic of the successor to the iPhone 4. There has been much talk since the past 6 months or so about the next iPhone, which many think could either be the iPhone 4S or the iPhone 5 (or even both). And obviously with any new device gearing up for launch, there will be rumors.

From rumors like the size of the iphone phone to every hardware detail have been discussed so far, not to mention the number of times that we’ve heard about probable launch dates.

Well, the new iPhone could have a lot of new features that we haven’t heard of yet. A dual core processor will definitely be included, given the fact that most flagship handsets today have dual core CPUs. The iPhone 5 could also feature the Apple A5 processor as seen on the iPad 2, which will not be surprising.

Also, a better 8MP camera is said to be on board which should improve image capturing on the iPhone because the iPhone 4 is not quite known for its camera. And of course a bigger 4 inch display could be on board since 3.5 inch displays are almost out dated now.

LG currently makes the Retina Display for the iPhone 4, for which Apple has a copyright so that no other maker could manufacture it. So we can expect to see LG making the bigger displays for the next iPhone.

As far as the processor manufacturing is concerned, Samsung makes the A4 chips for the iPhone 4 which in fact is designed by Apple, but since the company doesn’t have a manufacturing unit they have Samsung make it for them. But looking at the on-going spat between Samsung and Apple, it is likely that Apple could switch manufacturers.

Well, an August/September iphone 5 launch has been rumored, which could easily be wrong. But for now it seems like the most plausible theory.
