Apple announced its September special launch event where it is expected to unveil its new iPhone 6s handsets.

The long-awaited iPhone 6s flagship devices are anticipated to be revealed during Apple's September 9 special event it announced over the weekend via a press invite.

The September special event traditionally falls on Apple's usual launch schedule for its iPhones, where it is expected the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus will be officially revealed to the public.

The event will also be available via live stream coverage for Windows 10 users using the new Edge browser, and will be starting off at 1PM ET/10AM PT at San Francisco's Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.

The Cupertino, California tech giant has issued its invitations to media outlets featuring a predominantly dark blue background prefaced by a white leaf-shape, and a rainbow-colored wave below with a phrase, "Hey Siri, give us a hint."

The riddle-like tagline indicates the response Apple iOS's intelligent personal assistant has been giving recently when users ask for a hint, which is to say: "The only hint I can give you right now is a hint of lime. And that there's a big announcement on 9 September," or "You'll have to wait until September 9. I bet you were one of those kids who snuck downstairs to open presents early, weren't you?"

According to leaks and other speculations, the iPhone 6s and 6s plus will feature improved 12MP cameras with sharper focus, a flash screen for its front cameras, 4K video recording, Force Touch technology display, and faster processors.

The launch event will also feature the iOS-based Apple TV, which is rumored to have an improved remote control, app support, and Siri presence. Apple is also expected to introduce iPhone 6s Plus wallpapers featuring Apple Watch-like motion, as well as a more comprehensive look at the iOS 9 and watchOS 2 before they are released.
