Alleged images of the Android powered Nokia C1 appear
Although Nokia cannot manufacture its own smartphones untill 2016, as per its deal with Microsoft. It can still place its own brand name on phones and devices manufactured by others. Judging by leaked images, it looks like the Nokia brand is all set to grace a smartphone once again. That too an Android powered device.
According to rumors, the Nokia C1 will come with a 5-inch 720p display, 2GB of RAM, 8MP rear camera as well as a 5MP front facing camera and will be running Android Lollipop. There is also a possibility that the phone will run Nokia’s own Z Launcher layered over the OS. There is no information as to when the C1 will be announced. Considering that the Nokia N1 was announced in November last year, the C1 could possibly announced around the same time.
The N1 and the C1 won’t be Nokia’s first forays into the world of Android. The Nokia X series of Android phones utilised to open source nature of Android and could run Android apps The phones didn’t come with Google’s suite of apps like Gmail or even the Play Store so users had to sideload Android apps into their phones.
