Have the rumours about the iPhone 5s (or is that an iPhone6?) run out of steam since we updated you on Monday?
Not likely. As The Unofficial Apple Weblog points out in scathing style:   “In an unusual contrast from the usual onslaught of stupid rumors about products that we may not see for years, if ever (ahem, iWatch), most of the rumors this week focused on things that Apple might actually release in the near future.”
So what might they be?
1. Gold ringer
The idea that the next iPhone will be available in a gold casing has come up a few times but today the MacRumours website added some credibility to the idea with its report that KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has issued a research note on the subject.
Although rebuffed by Apple’s Senior Vice President, Phillip Schiller even the idea of a cheaper version of the iPhone has had the tech blogosphere in raptures.
3. No more home button
It’s been mooted in the past and would be a welcome move for anyone who has suffered the stuck home button. According to Business Insider the home button could be no more and in its place could be gesture control.
4. Could it be called the iPhone 5C?

This rumour from Gizmodo which also sport a picture of lots of white casings with this name on the packaging. Ironically given the colourless picture, the site thinks the ‘C’ might refer to the multi-coloured casings speculation that has also been doing the rounds online.
5. And there’s even a video purporting to be the iPhone 5C.

Sonny Dickinson claims this is: “A detailed hands-on video showing a yellow iPhone 5C back housing!”
Away from Apple.........
6. Twitter is believed to be developing a service which will highlight events happening near you . The nearby-event feature was spotted on Twitter’s iPhone app, by TechCrunch’s Anthony Ha who shared a screenshot of how it looks on the website.
7. Facebook is planning to test out a new payments system that would allow online shoppers to make purchases on mobile apps using their Facebook login information, according to ‘sources familiar with the company’s plans. The new product, if launched widely beyond its current small testing phase, would undoubtedly pit Facebook against digital payments giant PayPal on mobile devices.
8. Blackberry has attracted plenty of rumours this week too after a leaked video appeared from Vietnamese outlet Cellphone S to show what is presumably the BlackBerry Z30 with what’s believed to be a 5-inch display.
9. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 speculation also got bigger this week. According to a tipster at PhoneArena , Samsung’s expected forthcoming “phablet” will feature a 3450mAh battery – the largest cell Samsung has ever used in a phone.
10.  And in response....there have been rumblings suggesting that HTC is soon to launch a Galaxy Note rival in the shape of the six inch HTC One Max. Twitter user @evleaks claims to have unearthed images of the huge new phone.
