Google+ iPhone app users can now ‘Hangout’
The Google+iPhone app recently received a few updates, one of them being support for Hangouts. Yes, this Google+ feature will now allow iPhone users to indulge in multi-user video conferencing, when on the move. This update also sees renaming of Huddle to Messenger.
In addition to that, Messenger enables photo sharing that was earlier absent in Huddle. Users can send photographs directly from their gallery or click new ones from the messenger thread to send. Google+ on iPhone now makes granular controls on notification settings possible. This allows users to individually select and take charge of whether they want to receive push notifications about people circling them, comments or tags.
Google+ additions enable users to +1 comments and it also provides a profile with a map view indicating places where they have lived. It has incorporated a new feature that facilitates sharing posts with an individual rather than circles. Google also claims reliability improvements in Messenger as well as enhancements in public search for people.
The Google+ iPhone app in its bid to get the desktop experience onto handsets, has included mute audio, switch between front and rear-facing cameras or freeze camera options, when ‘hanging-out’ with friends. This will take socializing and networking to a whole new level where iPhone users can hangout and catch up on events, by easily connecting with their family and friends, on-the-go.
The updated Google+ iPhone app can be grabbed via iTunes.
