iPhone 5 Sprint version will be a huge hit
Apple iPhone 5 is apparently to get a version for Sprint Nextel this fall. Rumor mill predicts that Apple and Sprint have reached in an agreement to roll out a Sprint iPhone. If the rumor is accurate, the Sprint iPhone will come up with the same customization of Verizon iPhone, analysts suggest.
There were extensive reports that Apple was to launch its iPhone 5 on all carriers in the U.S. This way, T-Mobile may also get an iPhone 5 besides Sprint. Currently, only Verizon and AT&T sell iPhones in the country.
Arrival of iPhone on its carrier will be a massive advantage for Sprint indeed. The carrier lost several customers through the years mainly because of its unstable 4G policy. So with the iPhone, the world’s most popular smartphone, Sprint can bring back many of its customers, analysts hope.
Apple has been selling its iPhone only on two carriers Verizon and AT&T from February this year. Before that, the company had only AT&T as an exclusive partner to distribute its iPhones.
It is high time that the Cupertino-based technology maker should change its policy of limiting its flagship smartphone on a few carriers. Of course, the company might have learnt a lesson from Samsung in this regard in last several months.
Samsung attained ground in the smartphone market in the U.S. launching various versions of its same model smartphone on all major carriers including the relatively unpopular U.S. Cellular.
Since the device is on the showcase of every carrier almost all smartphone customers in the U.S. enjoy the opportunity to grab a Samsung device. Of course, it was the reason behind Samsung Galaxy S’ better performance over the dominating iPhone in the U.S. last year.
